Welcome to Echo Escape

Hosts of Echo Escape
★★★★★ Maine hosts, lake locals

Echo Escape has been a family gathering spot for years. Our kids grew up here, our dogs swim here and we love sharing it. The water is steps from the house, the lawn is open for games, and the fire pit is ready to ignite. We have created lifelong memories at this wonderful escape and hope you will too. Enjoy!

Is the lake good for swimming?

Yes — Echo has very clean, clear water. Our swim raft is at a depth of about 15ft and the docks have ladders to make entry/exit easy. No diving off the shore dock please...it's about 6 feet deep. Both docks are well suited for use by kids and adults alike. Water temperatures are most comfortable from June through September.

Is firewood provided for the firepit?

Yup! We usually have a cache of firewood under the deck to keep it dry.

What's the cancellation policy?

Full refund if you cancel at least 14 days before check-in. Inside 14 days, you'll be refunded 50% of nights not yet started.

What appliances are in the kitchen?

Fridge, stove with oven, microwave, dishwasher, and coffee maker.

How many people can the house sleep?

Comfortably 10. There are 4 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms in total. The master bedroom and 2 guest rooms have queens, and the bunkroom has 4 bunks appropriate for kids. Additionally, there is a loft that sleeps 2 comfortably.

What linens are provided?

All bedding and linens are provided as well as lake and bath towels.

Do you provide the kayaks and canoes, or do we need our own?

Everything's included — 3 kayaks, 2 canoes, and 3 paddleboards are stored by the dock and ready to use, along with life jackets in a range of sizes.

Can I use the living room woodstove?

Yes, use the firewood under the deck and please ensure the pieces are not too large. Any wood placed in the wood stove needs to fit in the wood stove. Lighter and paper are in the basement labeled 'Fire Pit'

How many vehicles will fit in the driveway?

The driveway can comfortably accommodate 6-8 vehicles. A camper or trailer up to 25ft in length can fit no problem.

Where is the boat launch located?

The boat launch is located on the north side of the lake past camp Laurel when coming from the south

How should I handle trash?

Trash bags and a large exterior trash bin and recycling bin are provided at the house.
